  1. Sports Question:
In my many many years of watching NFL football on TV, I believe that season 2010 has to be a record season of the number of fines and dollar amount administered by the NFL League, There is no question that the amount of questionable and outright dirty play has increased in the league. And of course, that is measured by the character of a lot of the players on the field today. With their huge ougtrageous salaries, a fine of a few thousand dollars don,t mean a thing to them, just a few dollars less they will have to spend on drugs, etc.

But for 2010 it seems the papers reported every week after Sunday’s game or others, that player so an so, or team such and such had been fine $1000, $2000, $3000 or $5000 for outright dirty play. It was reported that, five (5) players were fined $50,000 and then in this last weeks paper, it was reported that the NY Jets were fined $100,000 for the incident when one of there coaches tripped an opponent player along the side lines when the Jets were losing!

QUESTION: Where does all this fine money go? What does the NFL league do with it! Why is it never mentioned or an accounting given for it!

I believe this is a question the NFL disserves to answer to their fans!

  2. What’s going on with the weather forecast? I have always depended on my personal forecast from WETC for the barn location where my horse is boarded. Whether that boy gets brought in or not is dependent upon your forecast. First of all I no longer get the forecast personalized and I get a email that states I should respond to an email from intellicast? I don’t know them and I’m afraid of spammers and phishing. I’ve had a bit of a problem with that as of the first of the year. So I go to your website where the low was predicted for Sat. night to be 34 degrees. CBS and TWC were stating 22 degrees as the low so I check with NOAA and weather.com and they state 22 degrees. 4 out of 5 say 22 degrees? I’m sure Jude was glad I went with the majority and brought him in or he would have had ice to drink outside instead of water inside. Just in case this may seem somewhat unimportant to you a horse can colic and die of impaction if he doesn’t drink enough water especially in the winter when he is less likely to do so because he’s less thirsty. Can I no longer expect your personalized services and should I respond to that email I’m getting from intellicast? Thanks for the services I have taken advantage of in the past.

  3. Wect is my preferred source of TV news and community information.
As a visually impaired person who relies on screen readers and other accessibility tools, I am disappointed that your web pages are one of small minority that are non comparable with these tools and thus useless to many potential users. Such as myself.
As a minimum your sites do not even meet the recommendations/standards of disability groups.

Thanks for your consideration of this issue.

  7. I have a New Hanover County School District Question:

I was wondering, why and when did Martin Luther King become more important than US Presidents?

No ill intent meant, as Dr. King is a VERY important man, who brought a LOT of much needed enlightenment to our country.

However, I cannot see how US Presidents have lost their importance over Dr. King? Where am I getting this from?

Because New Hanover County has taken Presidents Day Holiday from our students to use to makeup the snow days, but would not take Martin Luther King Day for snow days for fear of racial accusations.

That is ridiculous, as we need to take race out of the entire equation and look at our prioritites

Obviously, nothing can be done about this at this point, but I feel this principle needs to be addressed as it makes me wonder what in the world has this country become and rethink our priorities.

    Thank you for your time,
    Joni
